Kongura reserve. It was established by order № 671 of the Committee for Environmental Protection of 15.06.1988 г. The aim is to preserve the natural forest ecosystems of Sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) and common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.). The reserve covers an area of 1312,00 ha. Guarded by the regional inspectorate of environment and water - Blagoevgrad.
All activities in the reserve are forbidden except: their security; study visits; people walking on the marked trails, including educational purposes; collection of seeds, wild plants and animals for scientific purposes.
By Order № 421 of 18.06.2007 of the Minister of Environment and Water buffer zone was declared as protected area "Babite" with total area of 285.00 ha.
At the foot of the mountain, outside the park, but closely, in the land of Kolarovo village is situated protected area "Topilishte". It was declared by Order № 328 of 05.08.1992, with the aim of protecting habitat of the royal fern (Osmunda regalis L.).
